Medical Cannabis for Gastrointestinal Conditions

Patients with Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, or other gastrointestinal disorders may benefit from cannabis-based treatment. When first-line therapies are ineffective, Can° Clinic provides tailored solutions. Discover how medical cannabis may help manage gut inflammation and improve quality of life.

Gastroenterology Conditions

Gastroenterological conditions refer to any illnesses or issues that affect the digestive system, including (but not limited to) the oesophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine (colon), the rectum and the anus. Evidence suggests that medical cannabis can be a useful option for a number of these conditions under certain circumstances.

How Can Medical Cannabis Support Gastrointestinal Health?

Chronic gastrointestinal conditions like Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and IBS can cause persistent pain, bloating, inflammation, and discomfort. Medical cannabis interacts with the endocannabinoid system to help regulate gut function, reduce inflammation, and ease symptoms such as nausea, cramps, and loss of appetite. For many patients, cannabis-based therapies provide a natural, well-tolerated alternative to traditional drugs, offering relief from daily symptoms and improving overall quality of life under proper clinical guidance.

A New Approach to Managing Digestive Conditions

Living with a long-term digestive condition often means navigating flare-ups, fatigue, and medication side effects. Medical cannabis may offer a new path forward, helping to calm inflammation, support gut motility, and reduce abdominal pain. Patients who haven't responded well to conventional treatments may find cannabis-based medicines especially helpful when integrated into a personalised care plan. At Cantourage Clinic, our specialists help guide patients toward safe, evidence-based cannabis treatment tailored to their unique condition.
